Do not shake; rock gently back & forth before use.
- Before using Refinisher, remove loose dirt from floor by sweeping or vacuuming, and clean thoroughly with a mild, oil-free cleaner such as Orange Glo™ Hardwood Floor Everyday Cleaner. Make sure that no dirt remains that could be trapped in the Refinisher, and that the floor is completely dry before continuing.
- Squirt Refinisher in an “s” pattern directly onto a 4’x4’ area of the floor.
- Using a damp microfiber mop or painter’s pad, quickly spread Refinisher evenly and consistently, following the grain of the wood. Move to next area and repeat until entire floor is coated. For best results, use a mop and microfiber pad to apply the Refinisher.
- It is best to keep airflow and airborne dust to a minimum while floor is wet. Allow to dry for a minimum of 1 hour before walking on coated floors. If desired, a second coat of Refinisher can be applied after 2 hours. Wait 24 hours before allowing heavy traffic and replacing furniture and rugs.
- Clean up: application tools can be easily cleaned with soap and water.
NOTES: For use solely on wood floors. Do not use on laminate floors. Test Refinisher in an inconspicuous area, such as inside a closet, to ensure adhesion and compatibility. Refinisher is for use on unwaxed, polyurethane finished hardwood floors that are dull, scratched, or showing signs of wear. Do not use on hardwood floors that have been waxed or oiled; wax and oil residues may prevent proper adhesion. To test for wax, apply a few drops of water to the floor. Wait 10 minutes. If the wetted area turns white, the floor may have a wax coating. If your hardwood floor has been previously coated with an acrylic maintenance coating, such as Orange Glo™ 4-in-1, or has been waxed or oiled, it must be thoroughly removed with a stripping product prior to using the Refinisher. Follow stripping instructions for that product or contact the manufacturer directly. When applied properly, Refinisher is designed to leave a non-strippable protective coating on your hardwood floor that can only be removed by sanding. The application of Refinisher to satin or low gloss sheens will increase the gloss level. Refinisher is intended to protect the floor between professional sanding and restoration. It is not designed for use on floors that are in very poor condition. Badly damaged floors or floors that have large areas where the finish is worn away will require complete refinishing. Use Refinisher periodically, up to 4 times per year. Results may vary according to individual application techniques and prior condition of hardwood floor. To clean floors that have been protected with Refinisher, we recommend Orange Glo™ Hardwood Floor Everyday Cleaner.
